Select Full Text Available
APH is working with the Lyrasis Consortium and Internet Archive to begin digitizing portions of the M.C. Migel Library. Search the phrase “full text” to find these items. The digitized texts are available in a variety of formats, including DAISY, Kindle, EPUB, PDF, etc.
Searching Help
Adding quotes to your search will help you find exact phrases or names. This is useful when organizations have commonly found words in their titles.
“American Association of Instructors of the Blind” will only bring back results for this particular association instead of others such as National Association of Blind Teachers, American Association of Schools of Social Work etc.
You can use the asterisk sign as a wildcard to stand in for one or more letters. This can be useful if you want to retrieve various versions of the word, or if you are not exactly certain of a spelling.
Retin* will bring back retina, retinal, retinitis
Date ranges may be searched using two dots in between dates.
“Helen Keller” 1905..1930
(Be aware that you may encounter false matches as the full text of the record will be searched for dates that match.)
Edition statements may be numeric or spelled out. Try another variation if you are not getting a match.
“eleventh edition” or “11th edition”
Author searches may find more matches with only the last name. First name representation may have changed over time (spelled out, initials only, etc.)
For publisher or series, use a keyword search. Publisher imprints and series statements may vary over time in the publishing industry.
Enter ISBN searches without hyphens.
